Handmade Ceramic Bowls — Made in India

There is a particular kind of bowl that changes how a meal feels — one that carries the warmth of the hands that made it. At Clayventures, every ceramic bowl is hand-thrown, trimmed, and kiln-fired in our studio in Ahmedabad. No two pieces are identical. Each ceramic bowl holds the small, natural variations of the making process — in glaze, weight, and finish — that no machine can replicate.

Whether you're looking for a Ceramic Bowls for daily use, a gift, or a set that quietly upgrades your table, this is where to start.

Why choose a handmade ceramic bowl?

A handmade ceramic bowl is not just tableware — it is a small, functional object made with attention. Factory-made bowls are uniform. Handmade ones are alive. The slight unevenness of the rim, the way the glaze pools differently in each curve, the specific weight in your hand — these are not flaws. They are what make every piece a one-of-a-kind object you will want to keep for years.

Made from the earth's four elements

Every ceramic dish from Clayventures is made using clay, water, fire, and air. The clay is shaped by hand on a wheel, dried slowly, fired at high temperatures in a gas kiln, and glazed with finishes we develop ourselves. This process — slow, attentive, and skill-driven — is what separates a studio pottery ceramic bowl from anything mass-produced.

Food-safe, durable, and everyday-ready

Every Ceramic Bowl we make is lead-free, food-safe, and tested for daily use. The glazes are non-toxic and non-reactive — your food will always taste exactly as it should. Our bowls are microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe, designed for real life, not just display shelves.

The This or That ceramic bowl set

Our signature collection — This or That — comes in three sizes, each designed for a different moment at the table.

The Little One

A small ceramic bowl with two forms — a deep side (4.75in × 1.5in) and a shallow side (4.5in × 1.25in). Perfect for dips, chutneys, desserts, or a single serve of snacks. The one you reach for without thinking.

Somewhere in the Middle One

The everyday ceramic bowl — deep side at 6in × 2.25in, shallow at 5in × 0.75in. Sized right for dal, soup, cereal, pasta, or anything that needs a proper bowl. The workhorse of the set.

The Not So Little One

A generous ceramic dish for the table — wide side at 7.5in × 0.75in, shallow side at 6in × 0.25in. Made for salads, fruit, sharing platters, or anything meant to sit in the middle of the table and be passed around.

Each piece in the set is sold individually or as a complete three-piece handmade ceramic bowl set.

How to care for your ceramic bowl

Your handmade ceramic bowl is built to last, but a little care goes a long way.

  •  Dishwasher safe: All bowls can go in the dishwasher. Hand washing with mild soap is recommended for long-term glaze preservation.
  • Microwave safe: Safe to use in the microwave for reheating food and liquids.
  • Avoid sudden temperature changes: Do not move a cold ceramic dish directly into a very hot oven — allow gradual temperature change.
  • Storage: Stack with a cloth or paper between bowls to protect the glaze and rim over time.
